Xero is the bookkeeping software that we predominantly use.

The Xero Advisor Certification is a free certification that can be completed in 10 hours or less (it advertises less than 8 hours on their site).

It is self-paced, virtual and free.

Proficiency in this platform will benefit everyone, so it is required before your application will be considered.

If you are not currently certified, you can complete the certification then come back and apply.

Whether you are selected to join our team or not, this free certification will strongly benefit you.

Applying without being Xero certified will disqualify your application.

Full service bookkeeping to include:

Pulling monthly bank statements

Categorizing and reconciling of transactions - being mindful to ask questions and present in a way that is valuable to the client

Running and reviewing of financial reports - checking for accuracy and formatting

Client communication - including compiling and asking necessary questions and sending the financial reports once complete

Pointing out inefficiencies and communicating potential issues to me

You will be provided training, typically either live on Zoom or by being sent recordings.

I am willing to train on basic accounting and bookkeeping concepts and the Xero platform.

I do, however, expect the candidate to be quick to catch on and diligent in that proper notes will be taken and referenced and that anything that can be researched is before questions are asked.

That said, communication is important to me as well as the quality of our work - so I welcome and encourage mindful questions and will answer thoroughly so you are better equipped to come to the correct answer next time.

I'm looking for someone trainable, with a great attitude, and strong attention to detail.

Analytical skills are important, but communication both internally and with clients is crucial.

The ability to manage time well is key.

Proficiency in computers and numbers is the most important. We work fully virtually and all systems are cloud based. The ability to catch on quickly to systems is important.

A degree in accounting would be nice but is not required. Most training will be provided for you.

If you have bookkeeping experience of any kind, it would be helpful but is not required.

This can be doing bookkeeping for a family member or friend or any accounting job.
