But before we dive right in, welcome to the Profits + Prosecco Podcast! I’m your host, Katie Ferro, CPA, reformed rule follower, creator of Booked Out Bookkeeper, mom to 3 little ones, and Kajabi enthusiast.

This podcast is for entrepreneurs who desire to change their life through their profitable business, and for bookkeepers and accountants who want to escape the 9-5 and start a simple scalable bookkeeping business like I did.

Bookkeeping increases profits and profits change lives. So pop some bubbles and let me show you how!

What life was like before BOB for Madison.

Madison was working a full-time 9-5 and she actually loved the company she was working for. She was doing really cool tasks in her job but when it came to the actual work she was doing, she was getting her bookkeeping done in the first two days of the month.

She thought to herself “Why do I even need to show up if all my work is done efficiently and well? Is there any way I can be doing this for myself?”

Madison always had a thought in the back of her mind of starting her own business and doing her own thing. She went on maternity leave from August to November of 2020 and that's where she decided she wanted to take on clients and grow a business.

That's when Madison found me and BOB, and she was hooked from the second she stumbled across it!

The key to being successful in BOB.

When it comes to building a successful bookkeeping business in BOB, you are surrounded by a group of people who get you 100%. You celebrate every win together, including when you let go of clients and when you gain new ones.

When Madison started accepting challenges in BOB, she became more open to adopting new ways of thinking, and that is the key to being successful in this program. Being open to new ideas and being very intentional.

To succeed in BOB, you have to be open and feel good about the things you want to do and when you do them. My main goal for anyone who joins BOB is for them to come in and get the results they hoped for.

My advice is to bring what you need to the table and show up to get what you want out of the program.

Where Madison is now after joining BOB.

Right now, Madison has a FULLY booked out bookkeeping business so it's safe to say she's a busy woman. She has also grown her team with an online business manager who helps her manage everything and she's also looking to bring in another bookkeeper as well.

Today, her life is all about getting to work whenever she's able to. She can go to the gym, drop her kids off at daycare, and go get coffee on her own time. She gets to pay more attention to her kids and focus on family.

Madison is able to balance the work with her clients and serve them at the same time. Her business allows them to thrive in theirs and be completely abundant with what they're building.

The work she does today compared to the work she did at her 9-5 is so much more satisfying to her because she's able to really pour herself into other people, and that's the best part of having a bookkeeping business.
