Today, we’re going to be talking all about her experience in BOB and what you need to know before coming into this program. Stay tuned to hear all about the experience you could be having with BOB!

But before we dive right in, welcome to the Profits + Prosecco Podcast! I’m your host, Katie Ferro, CPA, reformed rule follower, creator of Booked Out Bookkeeper, mom to 3 little ones, and Kajabi enthusiast.

This podcast is for entrepreneurs who desire to change their life through their profitable business, and for bookkeepers and accountants who want to escape the 9-5 and start a simple scalable bookkeeping business like I did.

Bookkeeping increases profits and profits change lives. So pop some bubbles and let me show you how!

Where Megan was before joining BOB.

Megan was working in a corporation at the time but was familiar with bookkeeping and came across potential bookkeeping opportunities several times. She found my Instagram page but didn't have a bookkeeping business in place, or even started bookkeeping, to begin with.

Long story short, she talked with her husband about making the investment in BOB and ended up joining.

One of the main reasons she became interested in bookkeeping was because she was laid off and was struggling with a lot of job insecurities. She ended up finding a new job shortly after but it didn't end up feeling like the right fit. When she found bookkeeping she realized how great of an opportunity it was, and it allowed her the freedom to not have to work in a corporate environment again.

What stood out to her about BOB was all the freedom everybody else in the group was already experiencing. They didn't have to report to anybody else, and they were able to do things on their own time!

Starting a bookkeeping business keeps you super stable.

When creating your own bookkeeping business, you also develop trust with clients and long-term relationships. As long as you're doing a good job, you're going to keep those clients throughout their business journey.

In a corporation, you're working for somebody else on their time but when you grow your own bookkeeping business, there's a lot more freedom and stability. When Megan first started the BOB exercises, one of the main things that was most valuable to her was seeing other people's success. It was super encouraging to her because she realized if they could do it, so could she.

Megan predicts herself working at corporate for at least another year until she is comfortable to fully start taking on bookkeeping. When you have full control of that stability, your bookkeeping business will skyrocket.

What to know if you're considering joining BOB.

Megan encourages everyone to take the leap and join BOB because of the powerful community inside the program.

Here are our main tips for being successful in BOB:

  • Follow it to a T and as close as you can.
  • Figure out a way to implement everything into your schedule.
  • Have an organized calendar to prioritize time.
  • Participate to the best of your ability.
  • SHOW UP!

In BOB, you're able to hear different perspectives along with such amazing success stories. If you're not comfortable doing bookkeeping solo just yet, I highly recommend my other program Become A Bookkeeper just so you can take it one step at a time before fully committing to a bookkeeping business and potentially leaving your corporate job.
